Lead Pastor

Dave Diefendorf

My name is David Diefendorf and it's an honor and a joy to lead City Life.  I grew up in Littleton, Colorado where my love for nature and the mountains was firmly established.   I graduated from the University of Kansas and went on to obtain a masters degree from Fuller Seminary.  I have been married to my best friend and partner-in-crime, Bekki, for over 20 years and it just keeps getting better!  We have three boys: Harper, Rhett and Ambrose.

Executive Pastor

Michaela Kadera-Redmond

Welcome to City Life!  I'm Michaela Kadera-Redmond and I am a Midwestern gal, having grown up in NE and IA and now call Kansas City home.  I graduated from Iowa State University (Cyclones, not Hawkeyes!) in 2002 and moved to KC shortly thereafter.  I have spent a season in the corporate world, a season at home raising kids and am now in a season of fulltime ministry.  God's path is always adventurous!  My husband, Marcel, and I have three amazing kids who keep us on the move.  It's a joy to serve this city and its people!

leadership Development director

bret Jenson

My name is Bret Jenson.  I am the Leadership Development Director (talk about an awesome job.)  I get to coach Life Group leaders, develop classes, and make disciples.  I spent the first half of my life in Montana, Arizona, and California.  Then I met a Texan (my wife Paige) and we moved to Kansas City in 2005.  We have two boys, Jude and Elliot, that keep us on our toes.  We found City Life after a pretty rough season, and thank God we found a caring group to welcome us in.  I think you’ll find same.

Kid City Director

Megan Douglas

Hello! My name is Megan Douglas, and I serve as the Kid City Director. My husband, Jake, and I met while attending Kansas State University and spent our first three years of marriage in Manhattan, KS. We moved home to Kansas City in the summer of 2018 and soon after started our family! We have three amazing sons, Ian, Noah and Caleb. I have a background in high school education and have always had a heart for teaching and mentoring others. I have a growing passion and love for children’s ministry and believe the church plays a significant role in sharing Christ’s love with our kids!

WORSHIP LEADERS

Will and Jordann McGinnis

We are Will and Jordann McGinnis and we co-lead the City Life worship team!  We grew up in different states, but met in college while working at a summer camp. We married and moved to KC after college. Outside of worship, Will works as an engineer and Jordann as a stay at home mom to our daughter and three sons, Shiloh, Harvey, Witt and Crosby. We love spending time outdoors, hosting people in our home and celebrating all things big and little. We are passionate about helping others encounter God through worship and believe that He always meets us exactly where we are and draws us to Himself.

Campus Minister

Burton Gepford

What up KC friends? Burton Gepford here! I have been involved in youth and campus ministry for the past several years. What better opportunity is there than reaching the next generation? I love helping students discover, build and live a life of greatness! Kansas City is my hometown as I grew up with parents living in Shawnee and KCMO. My wife, Natalie, and I have been involved with City Life and their church network for over a decade. Natalie is a midwife and nurse practitioner and we have four amazing children. It is a joy to work with students throughout KC and connecting them to the local church. I look forward to meeting you and building God’s kingdom along side you!

Campus Ministers

Trevor & Ruthie Perry

Hey y’all! We are the Perrys. We are part of the Called to Greatness campus ministry staff and City Life Church. We met in college, got married and now do ministry together. We love helping college students discover, build and live a life of greatness in the kingdom of God. We’re passionate about growth and community and our hope is to reach the campus and bridge students to a multigenerational and multiethnic growing church community.
